20 years of Shona Barley

This week we celebrate 20 years of Shona Barley 

Although she has only 'officially' worked for the company for 20 years her interest in the industry started at a very young age. Visits to the cow shed as a toddler, as a teen she was salting sheep skins for extra pocket money (this job was not for the faint hearted) and showing prize cattle at the local Auction Mart. Not typical past times for a teenage girl!

After graduation from Lews Castle College with an HNC Hospitality she worked in the kitchen at Western Isles Hospital before taking up a role in the family business.

She has been the main driving force behind the company developments over the last decade, project managing the expansions and refurbishments as well as developing new products and being the face of Stornoway Black Pudding throughout the country and just last week in Paris, France. And picking up a few awards along the way! 

We can quite honestly say the company wouldn't be where it is now without her.
